Input: QGIS in your pocket - Streamlining Field Data Collection
Input: QGIS in your pocket is a free Android application developed by Lutra Consulting, designed to simplify field data collection. It allows users to capture data on their mobile or tablet, create mobile forms, and invite survey teams to complete them on their devices. The captured data, along with the location, can be surveyed offline and then synced back to the office in seconds. This application aims to remove the pain of transcribing paper field notes, manually georeferencing photos, and transcribing GPS coordinates.
Input: QGIS in your pocket is an extension of the free and open-source GIS software QGIS. This application enables users to open, interrogate, and edit QGIS projects on their mobiles, and the map layers look the same as in QGIS desktop. The application supports offline data capture and can be configured to use either offline or web-based background maps and contextual layers. Forms can be configured to perform data validation using custom rules, and the app works with the device's internal GPS receiver and third-party Bluetooth GPS receivers. The captured data can be exported to a wide variety of formats, including CSV, Microsoft Excel, ESRI Shapefile, Mapinfo, GeoPackage, PostGIS, AutoCAD DXF, KML, and many more.
